H&M Selling 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo'-Inspired Clothing
Because dressing like your favorite fictional characters isn't just for Halloween, H&M is set to unveil a new line of threads inspired by Lisbeth Salander -- better known as the girl from 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.' In anticipation of the David Fincher-directed adaptation of Steig Larsson's worldwide best seller, the Swedish clothing retailer has paired with 'Dragon Tattoo' costumer designer Trish Summerville to produce the quintessential Lisbeth look. Bleached eyebrows, tattoos and piercings not included. "We took her basic pieces that we used throughout the film and did a little more fashionable version for H&M," said Summerville, who apparently "scoured" Swedish shops to find Lisbeth's look for the film. In an interview with Vogue, star Rooney Mara -- who plays Salander in the Fincher film -- revealed that pre-production on 'Dragon Tattoo' involved two days of wardrobe tests with 26 different looks for the iconic computer hacker. The Lisbeth clothing line will debut on Nov. 28 in Paris, before going onsale at H&M stores worldwide on Dec. 14. 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' hits theaters on Dec. 21.
